Who should play Pee Wee Hockey?

This program is intended for children ages 11-12. They will usually have completed the Squirt program or have qualified for participation at this level during player evaluations. Skaters are divided into teams based on player evaluations to allow coaching staff to provide appropriate skill level development. All Pee Wee level teams will compete to represent Oregon Hockey in the State Tournament at the conclusion of the season.

How much ice time do skaters receive?

Skaters will have a minimum of two weeknight practices and usually two games per weekend.

What should be expected for games?

Games are played on the full ice surface. Teams skate 5 on 5 (with goalies). All rules of hockey are enforced during game play. Checking is prohibited.
Games are scheduled against local area teams, both home and away. Teams generally schedule 1-2 tournaments as well. Travel and overnight stays may be required for games/tournaments. As this represents addition cost above the Peewee hockey fees, participation in these events is encouraged but not required.

What equipment does my child need to participate?

All skaters are required to wear full hockey gear during on ice sessions.
