Development

This year, OYH is taking over the “Knock the Rust Off” program previously run by the rink. We’re excited to offer the "Pre-Season Accelerator" and will be bringing in Amy Claggett for skating instruction, a dedicated goalie coach, and OYH‑led coaching sessions. Currently we are offering this to 10U and above but might expand to 8U pending registration numbers. Fundraising plays a major role in making programs like this accessible, as it allows us to subsidize costs so all skaters can participate.  

During the season to help ensure more dedicated ice and skills sessions we secured another hour of ice on Monday’s. Again this all comes at a cost, however from the feedback we heard from all of you on the survey we need to get more development for our athletes. Fundraising will help keep allowing us to do things like this without passing all of the costs along.
