Learn to Play (LTP)
This is our introductory to hockey program intended for players who have completed a Learn to Skate program or have some experience on the ice. This is all about having fun and getting kids to try the game of hockey in a pressure fee low obligation environment.
Ages
We invite children from the ages of 4 to 12, however the majority of players will be in the 4-8 age range.
When
Learn to Play will be offered in 3 different sessions this season, with each lasting about 6 weeks. The first session will start in Early October and the final session will end in early March.
Session 1: 10/3 - Try Hockey For Free
through 11/18
Session 2: 12/5 - 1/27
Session 3: 2/6 - 3/17

All Practices are held at the Oregon Ice Arena.

Practices
Practice will be held once weekly on Wednesday nights from 5:45-6:45.
Cost
$50 per session
Equipment
Equipment can be rented with a $100 deposit. This will include everything but skates, which can be rented for free through the Ice Arena if needed.

Do I need to register with USA Hockey?
Yes, you can register via this link https://membership.usahockey.com/register/age the cost is $17 if the skater was born in 2020 or sooner.

2026-2027 LTP Season - Session 1
The Learn to Play program is designed to give children who have had some experience skating an introduction to hockey. We invite children from the ages of 4 to 12, however the majority of players will be in the 4-8 age range.
We will cover a lot of basic skating and hockey skills through fun games to keep the kids moving while working on being comfortable on the ice. It will be a very fun setting!
Learn to Play will be offered in 3 different sessions this season, with each lasting about 6 weeks.
Learn to Play is meant to be a one year or partial year program moving skaters on to the appropriate next level during the current or following season.
